Isabel Mira has been an advocate for plaintiff's rights since she started her legal career in Colombia, South America, and she continues to do the same here in the United States.
Most recently, Ms. Mira was working as an associate attorney at Pegalis Law Group, LLC in Lake Success, New York, where she conducted pre-trial litigation representing patients in medical malpractice actions.
Ms. Mira has also worked protecting creditors' rights while navigating the intertwining federal and state compliance regulations. Ms. Mira also enjoyed the opportunity to intern at Glen Cove City Court for the Honorable Joseph McCain.
Although Ms. Mira was already an attorney when she first arrived in the United States, she acquired the skills to practice in New York by working in a plaintiffs' personal injury law firm and attending St. John's University School of Law. She has been profiled as a prominent medical malpractice lawyer in the Long Island Business News in their "Who's Who" publication. In 2020 and 2021, Ms. Mira was named a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers®, which recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in New York.
In her native country of Colombia, South America, Ms. Mira was a civil litigation solo practitioner. She also practiced law at Corantioquia, a governmental agency charged with the enforcement of environmental policy, where she prepared legal responses to public petitions, administrative decisions, and addressed environmental regulations.
Ms. Mira is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association. She is admitted to practice law in New York and Colombia, as well as in the Federal Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the United States Supreme Court. She obtained her law degree from Universidad de Medellín, Colombia, and graduated with a Master of Laws in American Legal Studies from St. John's University School of Law.
